Program Analyst

Location: Monterey, CA
DCS is hiring for a Program Analyst to support  the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). The Program Analyst would provide on-site technical administrative support for the multi-million dollar ARP program at NPS in Monterey, CA. The Program analyst will support the graduate student acquisition research program, all phases of the research project process, reporting of results, and research dissemination. The Program Analyst shall also provide support for the Annual Acquisition Research Symposium, which occurs each May with a project life cycle of one (1) year.This work frequently requires coordinating efforts with others working in related and unrelated specialties. The Program Analyst must assess unusual circumstances and vary the approach in the face of incomplete or conflicting data. This can involve the compilation, reconciliation and correlation of voluminous data from a variety of sources with different reporting requirements and formats.  Data must be carefully cross-checked, analyzed and interpreted to obtain accurate and relevant information.

This work also requires considerable interaction with NPS faculty and staff. Contacts outside of NPS include personnel in comparable positions as well as scientific program managers at sponsoring agencies, program directors for special programs, and high ranking civilian and military officials in DON/DoD.

The Program Analyst must demonstrate a high level of professionalism with the flexibility and adaptability in a variety of complex and detailed programmatic responsibilities under the pressure of short and frequently changing deadlines and requirements.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting, or equivalent private sector experience
  • 5 years of experience in administrative support with at least 2 of those years supporting a program, senior executive or senior executive team
  • 5 years advanced software applications skills (MS WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT), office practices and a high degree of skill in applying software functions to prepare complex and detailed documents
  • 2-5 years of knowledge of DoD/DoN business systems, or equivalent private sector experience
  • 1-2 years of conference management experience
  • 3-5 year of office management experience
  • US Citizen
Salary Dependent on Experience; Full Time Employee with benefits.  No relocation is offered.
